Project Description
Cantina di Venosa
Vision, determination and decision-making speed
have allowed this historic cooperative to produce
high quality wines and a wide and well diversified range of wines.
La forza della squadra.
Cantina di Venosa, founded in 1957 by 27 promoters, currently has 400 associated winemakers covering almost 800 hectares of vineyards, thus becoming the largest producer of Aglianico del Vulture DOC and DOCG in Basilicata. The mission of the winery is to produce high quality wines supported by the competence and respect for the territory as well as the daily work of the associated wine growers.
To achieve this, cutting-edge technology used and strict control over the work done by each producer in the vineyards is adopted. In recent years, a detailed mapping of the vineyards of all the members has made it possible to know which grapes are destined for which wines upstream, in the vineyard.
Technology has helped to control the progress of the vineyards and make the work in the vineyard sustainable. It has meant bringing healthy grapes to the cellar at the right point of ripeness.
